Hi I read that K6 brings us to semonggoh but I’m waiting for the 1pm bus now but it hasn’t seem to come. Is that the correct bus? Some locals have been telling us we should take 3A and then call for a private van but I’m worried we might be stranded in the middle of nowhere.

As of July 2019, the K6 bus route no longer exists but you can take the 3A bus from Kuching to get to Semenggoh. We did, and it dropped us off right at the entrance to the park. The ride took about an hour (left Kuching at 12:30pm, got to Semenggoh around 1:30pm) and cost RM 5 per person.

A lot is dependent upon the child. Recognize that it will be hot and humid with walking required from the car park to the assembly area and probably deeper into the jungle. The trails in the jungle are uneven and it seemed like there was a mad rush from the 120 or so guests to get from one spot to another. The rangers request that guests be quiet so as to not spook the orangutans that might be coming for breakfast. We did not realize that time of year plays an important part in whether one appears. At the end of the fruiting season, the animals can get their fruit naturally and are less apt to come to "breakfast." We were there at the end of the fruiting season in late February/early March. I have no idea when it begins. That said, it was the highlight of our visit to Kuching.
问:
Are there toilets available?
答:
Yes. There is parking in the reserve near the visitor centre and toilets are near the little shop and cafe close to the viewing area.
问:
Is it better to visit in the morning or afternoon?
答:
Morning you have a better chance to see them
