The family of a missing high school senior from St. Pete says they are feeling hopeful after authorities discovered his bike earlier this week.

Nasr's family was knocking on doors and handing out flyers near where police said they found Nasr's bike on Wednesday.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A Florida Missing Child Alert has been issued for 17-year-old Allister Nasr, who was last seen in the area of the 6500 block of Bayou Grande Boulevard Northeast in St. Petersburg.

After finding the bike, police launched a search by air, land and water in the Weedon Island Preserve area using drones, boats, bloodhounds and cadaver dogs, the news release states. Allister is considered endangered because evidence found after his disappearance “raised concerns about his personal safety,” police said.

St. Pete police said they recovered a bicycle believed to belong to missing 17-year-old Allister Nasr. It was discovered Wednesday, south of Gandy Boulevard, off San Martin Blvd. The area near Weedon Island Preserve is surrounded by thick vegetation and a public works construction site filled with sand,

A body was discovered deep within the Weedon Island Preserve on Friday, March 14th, during the ongoing search for missing 17-year-old Allister Nasr. Due to the condition of the remains, detectives are currently unable to confirm whether the body is that of Nasr.
