UC San Diego, in its first season of NCAA Tournament eligibility, is going to the Big Dance after clinching its first Big West championship with a 75-61 victory over UC Irvine on Saturday night in Henderson,

UC San Diego’s historic season continued on Tuesday, with Tritons players and coach Eric Olen winning the Big West’s major awards ahead of the conference tournament. Senior guard/forward Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones was named the Big West Player of the Year.

Michigan played its best basketball since January at the Big Ten Tournament over the weekend and was rewarded with a 5 seed and a matchup with a top-40 KenPom opponent. The Wolverines are headed to Denver to face the UC San Diego Tritons on a quick turnaround and at altitude.
