2012年6月14日 · I can recommend our PE30 EVA foam or PE45 closed cell foam online for Cosplay. We have these available in 2m x 1m sheets. Equally, if you are looking for a foam with a coarse cell structure (for detailing, etc.), there is PEM30-X. All three foams have a closed cell structure, of a similar mid-range density and suitable for cosplay.

2014年3月14日 · If you truly want a smooth surface without any seams, you need to seal the EVA with a few coats of good quality wood glue (I like Elmers MAX brand), then use Bondo. Fair warning though, foam won't retain it's shape if you leave it in a hot environment, and Bondo isn't all that strong all by itself.

2012年9月18日 · Flattening out the rolls is a pain in the ass. In my experience, the 1/2" foam is honestly too thick and too stiff to be any use for anything except N7 style builds. FoamTiles.com sells 1/2" sheets but the ones I got from them were just a hair thinner (8mm), and they are much less stiff than the 1/2" ones that Lowes or Home Depot carries.

Also, I had to use some foam putty filler to smooth out the top, since somewhere in the pattern cutting-tracing-foam cutting process the pieces were slightly misaligned. This made my cover pieces lumpy so I tore them off and had to smooth the surface down. Started detailing the chainsaw part.
