There’s strategy behind everything we do on the ranch for the land and livestock, especially feeding during winter storms. When winter storms hit, we feed extra. Grazing isn’t as easy in the wind and driving snow. They cattle need extra nutrients in the cold and the process of digestion generates heat. We also place feed in the protection of the hills and stand the hay bales on end instead of processing them to encourage the cattle to stay within the hills and not drift. You can see in the video
