20x12 SkyPoly Pergola going up now. We got two pergolas on this site. We are painting the side yard pergola now. This is burnt hickory ready seal stain. Western red cedar lumber. 8x8 posts with the U notch for the 4x12 headers. We used timber lock fasteners attaching the Headers to the Posts. 12”. We’ve got 4x8x20 joists on top. No notch needed because, well, they are 4” thick 😂. We’ve got 2x4s on top. SkyPoly roof coming next week. We will start back up Monday on the back pergola with SkyLifts

Some fun timber work from back when I build the counter for my pergola. Was an interesting “problem” to solve in letting these 2 timber beams into the corners of 2 posts that were turned to difference degrees. Depth of notches had to vary to ensure the beams would be parallel.
